Czech Symphony Orchestra is a professional symphony orchestra founded in 1994 as the successor of a famous Film Symphony Orchestra – FYSIO (in-house orchestra of the Barrandov film studios) - and continues its best tradition.
It consists of the finest Czech musicians, which all have many years of experiences with both film and classical music recording and concert performance.
The orchestra performed the oratorium "Elias" by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, as the opening of the International Music Festival "Prague Autumn", with the soloists of the Metropolitan Opera, conducted by Isaiah Jackson from the USA.
Conducted by Eugen Kohn, it has accompanied the tenor star Plácido Domingo in his concert in Prague.
Celebrating the composer’s Carl Orff’s 100th anniversary, it participated on the grandiose project of the open-air opera "Carmina Burana".
In Spain, the orchestra performed Sergei Prokofjev’s oratorio "Ivan the Horrible", directed by J. A. Zaize.
From 2011, under the new management, CSO became one of the mostly valued film music recording orchestra and recorded music for movies such as Lidice, Aldabra, The Golden Cane Warrior, The Britts are coming and many more.

Very popular these days is a concert performance of famous film music themes. CSO does that a lot and owns a big library of sheet music material (such as Harry Potter, Lion the King, James Bond, Out of Africa, Star Wars etc.)
From 2017 CSO has been performing “Game of Throne” concerts in Germany - orchestrated and conducted by Franc Bader.
For many years CSO has been cooperating with famous Indonesian composer and musician Erwin Gutawa (CD „The Next Chapter“ by Gita Gutawa), arranger and orchestrator Alvin Witarsa, composer and piano player Dwiki Dharmawan (movie „Ketika Mas Gagah Pergi“), Korean composer Oh Joon Sung, American composers Sam Cardon, Fredrik Kaufman and many more.
CSO also performs in small chamber orchestra size – consisted of its top musicians.
